What are Monkey Pants?

The M-44 Monkey Pants are a model developed in 1944 at the end of World War II, and their unique design and functionality are attractive.

They were produced for a very short period, from July 1944 to around October 1945, and were issued to the US Marine Corps, a small elite unit, so the overall production number was low, making them highly valuable and rare pants.

Monkey pants were designed for field use, emphasizing ease of movement when crawling or assuming a forward-leaning posture.

The fabric is herringbone twill, also used in the CM47 (Baker pants), specially dyed for the Monkey Pants.

Herringbone twill is a type of twill fabric called so because it resembles the bones of a herring when it is splayed open. It is a durable fabric that emphasizes the ribs by varying the twist of the threads.

Since it is dyed with vat dyes, similar to vintage items, it will fade with wear, allowing you to cultivate your own unique pair.
