Shirts Named After a Region in Northern France ~Flagship Store~

Thank you for always visiting our store.

Today, we'd like to introduce a classic item released by The 2 Monkeys.

The 2 Monkeys Linen Cambrai Shirt【TM21160】

Introducing the Cambrai Shirt from The 2 Monkeys.

Its name comes from Cambrai, a town in northern France.

Cambrai was famous for its delicate and beautiful plain-woven linen fabric.

Many essential American casual items have their material origins in France.

Denim, chamois, pique, etc...

Many material names are also derived from French.

One famous example is chambray, and from that connection, we named this the Cambrai shirt.

This shirt incorporates the shape of shirts from the mid-19th century (or earlier) using a light, thin, plain-woven linen fabric like those woven in Cambrai, making it easy to pair with modern casual styles such as American casual.

While incorporating the styles of the time, such as the relaxed body,

and gathers at the collar and cuffs,

we have adapted the shirts of that era, which were mostly pullovers, into a front-opening style for ease of use.

This item can be worn alone now, and when it gets colder, you can wear an inner layer and then an outer jacket, making it a piece that can be worn 365 days a year.

Please try on this shirt for a more classic feel.
