〜Reservations are also open〜
Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.
Today, I'd like to introduce this
"Special Item."
JELADO USMC Souvenir Jacket 【JP03408】
Here's the front (A side).
The front, back, both arms, and cuffs
are densely embroidered.
Given the USMC embroidery,
it was likely worn by someone affiliated with them.
The back (B side) has an Iwo Jima embroidery.
JELADO's souvenir jacket, which was also popular in the previous collection.
The 2024AW souvenir jacket
is also reversible, but
the design is so cool that either side could honestly be the A-side.
*We have completely reproduced the design of our vintage piece.
While souvenir jackets often feature
dragons, tigers, or eagles,
military-themed ones like this are not common,
and a type with side adjusters is
extremely rare.
The A-side is 100% cotton velour,
and the B-side is rayon satin.
By using waste cotton, it becomes a voluminous
and highly insulating souvenir jacket,
and just like in the 1950s, it's produced
by first quilting and then embroidering,
making it a time-consuming piece to create.
Please come and try on JELADO's ultimate souvenir jacket
in store.
〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜
【Pre-order item, arriving early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
USMC M44 Monkey Pants are pants issued to the Marine Corps,
and are a popular item in the vintage world, affectionately known as "Monkey Pants."
The origin of their name is this…
Large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were adopted for carrying a "poncho,"
and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.
Because these pockets resemble a monkey's hindquarters,
they are called "Monkey Pants."
The production period for the M44 was
actually very short, just "1 year and 3 months,"
from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Also, because they were issued to the
"elite few" of the US Marine Corps,
the overall production volume was low, leading to very high prices
in the vintage market.
The periods when the US Marine Corps
actually wore them include:
・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 - March 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 - September 7, 1945).
Also, after World War II,
・Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953).
They seem to have been widely worn during these periods.
JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone fabric
and are dyed with vat dyes.
And the buttons are donut buttons,
which also creates that vintage feel.
By wearing them consistently, you can enjoy
the aging process.
They pair well with Native-patterned mid-length coats,
leather jackets, and even
coveralls.
I also recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please make your reservations online or in store.
Thank you very much.
