Although this winter is said to be mild, it has become quite chilly in the mornings and evenings.

So, I think many of you are probably looking for a heavy outer layer that can handle the depths of winter.

And when it comes to classic American casual winter outerwear, the N-1 deck jacket comes to mind. So today, I'd like to introduce the JELADO x Colimbo N-1 collaboration, which was popular last year as well.

Colimbo-san, who has a reputation for military items, created the N-1 for us using JELADO's classic denim fabric, "Last Resort White Tag." This is the "white tag" denim fabric that we developed in-house by deconstructing vintage Levi's 501s.

The N-1 deck jacket was issued to U.S. Navy ship crew members at the end of World War II for working on the deck. As shown in the photo, by standing the collar up and fastening the chinstrap, they could work while protecting their neck from the sea breeze.

The most distinctive feature of the N-1 deck jacket is undoubtedly the dense wool alpaca lining packed into the body, collar, and cuffs.

Before the 1960s, when outdoor activities became popular in America and down jackets became common, this was probably one of the warmest American casual outerwear items. With Tokyo's mild winter, you could probably get by with just an N-1 and thermals.

Since it uses the same Last Resort White Tag denim as the 55 denim jacket, you can expect this kind of aging as you wear it repeatedly.
