If you're buying a leather jacket, now's the time──44Leather Jacket ~Flagship Store~

Thank you for always visiting our store.

The heat is gradually subsiding, and we can start to feel the signs of autumn.

With that in mind, today we'd like to introduce you to JELADO's representative 44 leather jacket, for those looking for a leather jacket to prepare for autumn.

JELADO 44Leather Jacket Horse hide Semi-aniline Finish【JP94409】

This is a leather jacket created with the assumption of making the first type of denim jacket from the World War II era in 1944, commonly known as the "War Model," out of leather.

During the war, civilian companies in the United States were also subject to material controls, and to save iron used for buttons, denim jackets were reduced from five buttons to four.

Furthermore, buttons that originally had brand engravings were replaced with ready-made laurel wreath buttons used by the military and others.

Due to these characteristics, the "War Model" was only produced for a very short period from 1942 to 1946, after World War II, making it a highly sought-after piece among enthusiasts in the vintage market due to its rarity.

JELADO's 44 leather jacket inherits the details of the "War Model" described above, and further aims to be a jacket that can be worn casually like denim and enjoyed for its aging.

To achieve the ideal aging, we developed a new horsehide. It is a so-called "tea-core leather," where the base is dyed light brown, and then black is applied with hill dyeing at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo. Just as indigo gradually fades and ages in denim, the black applied on top peels off, revealing the brown base material.

The tanning process is also meticulous. The horsehide, approximately 1.6mm thick, is first chrome-tanned, then the chemicals are washed off, and it is re-tanned with vegetable tannins. This combines the plasticity of tannin tanning, which allows wrinkles to be etched, with the suppleness of chrome tanning.

Initially, the leather has a smooth texture, but as you wear it, it develops a grain like this.

The silhouette, which is a very short-length first type denim jacket, has been slightly modified to be longer. It is a jacket that can be worn casually, even by those who find rider's jackets difficult to wear in the city.
