It's already October. It's starting to feel a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings.

I'm wearing a Commandman.

It seems like it's going to get cold very quickly.

 

Today, I'd like to show you the aging of my favorite Smoker Shirt Indigo 【JP81123】.

JELADO's standard SMOKERS SHIRTS are tailored from light-ounce (denim lighter than 10oz) selvage denim (which refers to denim fabric woven on old shuttle looms. Originally, "selvage" literally means the edge of a woven fabric or the ear of a fabric. This denim with an ear is selvage denim).

Because it's light-ounce, it's highly breathable, so I was able to wear it even in summer. Of course, that was in an air-conditioned store...

The design is based on the "BIG YANK" (a brand for worker's clothing) asymmetrical pocket shirts from the 1930s.

BIG YANK primarily sold work shirts, and I think many of you have heard of the brand name at least once.

The small pocket on the front reproduces the unique bag stitching of vintage items, making it a detail that tickles the vintage lover's heart.
For the stitching, the shoulder and arm parts use triple stitching for durability. The pocket parts use the same double stitching as back then, creating details that evoke the atmosphere of the time.
The buttons are also hexagonal buttons used in old work shirts.
The gusset has an ear and an empty chainstitch specification. 
Since the original "BIG YANK" had both types of gussets—with an ear and with bag stitching—this time we opted for the gusset with an ear to preserve the atmosphere of that era. Cotton thread is used, and when cotton thread is washed and put in a dryer, the threads tighten more, creating stronger fading on the shoulders and arms.
The sizing is such that the arm circumference is moderately slender, allowing for a neat and trim fit.
It is a work shirt that blends fashion and design.

This is a piece that will please those who want to wear work shirts stylishly or those who appreciate serious craftsmanship.

Now, please take a look at the shirt I've been wearing for about 2 months, twice a week, compared to a new one.

 

The one on the left is new. The one on the right is mine.

 

 

 

Arm part

 

 

There's quite a change in color, and it's developed a nice shade. Wrinkles and fading are also appearing.

As mentioned in the product description, the fit is excellent.

I am 176 cm tall and weigh 64kg, and the M size fits me perfectly.

I recommend wearing it in a fitted size and using it as an inner layer.

I think it's a simple yet cool shirt.

I will continue to wear this at the store, so I hope to share its further aging with you. I also hope it can be a reference for you.
