【Arriving October】JELADO 44Leather Jacket (Horsehide Semi-aniline Finish)【JP94409】

 

 

 

 

 

This leather jacket is a war model, very popular even as a vintage item.

 

・No flaps on the pockets

・Laurel wreath buttons on the front

・Four buttons

 

Based on the S506XX (1st war model),

this is JELADO's "very popular leather" jacket.

 

The "44 Leather Jacket" will be arriving soon,

but it's so popular that only the pre-ordered items will be available.

 

This time, we'd like to show you the "aging process"

of this special leather jacket.

 

Here's the "44 Leather Jacket" worn by JELADO's representative, Goto.

 

 

When representative Goto is working alone,

he wears the 44 Leather and does "shadow boxing."

 

He also does push-ups and other exercises.

While there are various ways to age leather,

this method is unique to our representative.

The arm wrinkles look like they've been worn for months...

But he hasn't worn it for even a month.

Considering that, aren't these arm wrinkles amazing?

 

The grain is clearly visible as well.

Wearing it repeatedly from now on will deepen the grain,

giving it a different look.

 

The back features a split-back (T-Back) design.

This is a welcome detail for vintage lovers.

 

And here, too, is the grain...

The deep grain that forms from repeated wear,

though not on my own item,

is something I look forward to.

 

The appearance of the brown core around the elbows

is absolutely stunning.

 

The 44 Leather Jacket, newly developed this time,

uses approximately 1.6mm thick horsehide,

which is combination-tanned.

 

After chrome tanning, the solvent is washed away,

and then it is re-tanned with vegetable tannin.

This process brings out the best qualities of vegetable tanning,

resulting in a horsehide leather with a moderate sense of substantiality.

 

The way the leather transforms into a deeper tone with repeated wear

is a pleasure to behold.

 

As mentioned above,

the 44 Leather has a brown core.

 

In an old-established finishing factory in Tokyo,

the black color is applied with a hill-dyeing process.

 

To achieve a strong black color, pigments and dyes are mixed in equal parts,

resulting in a "semi-aniline" finish.

 

This finish retains the natural texture of the leather,

offers a softness that cannot be achieved with 100% pigment, and allows for

the enjoyment of aging through repeated wear.

It truly captures "the best of both worlds."

The 407EXX features a split-back (T-BACK) design

from size L upwards.

 

Among customers who can wear a size M,

some intentionally purchase a size L

to get the split-back feature.

 

The 301EXX, which will be introduced later, is also similar,

with a special design that makes the yarn slubby,

The denim fabric has a strong uneven texture.

It will develop prominent vertical fading.

The black tag of Last Resort, which was released a year ago the other day.

 

We, the WEST staff,

have also diligently worn them to break them in.

As you can see from the images,

they show distinct vertical fading.

 

Looking at the denim we wear,

the fading differs, but that is one of the charms of denim.

 

The "black tag" series is

positioned as XX fabric from the 1940s.

 

Although it is a darker denim,

until the end of the war in 1945, factories were producing "S506XX, S501XX,"

and there was leftover fabric from these productions.

 

With the lifting of "material controls" issued during the war,

the details on both top and bottom returned to their pre-war specifications,

but this didn't happen immediately, and it took several years for the fabric to change to a new one.

 

Models with the new fabric change correspond to the late 1947 type.

 

Because this black tag is denim from the transitional period until the fabric changed to a new one,

it is a dark-toned denim fabric.

 

The early 1947 models are JELADO's 407EXX / 301EXX.

 

Reservations for these are also being accepted at the store,

so please feel free to try them on at the store.
