We use a combination tanning method.

 

After chrome tanning, the solvent is washed off.

The leather is then tanned again.

By doing so, the tannin tanning

Bringing out the best parts and giving it a moderately profound feel

It is then finished into horsehide leather.

 

Repeated wearing will give the leather a deeper color.

It's fun to watch how it changes.

 

As I mentioned above,

44Leather has a brown core.

 

At a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo,

Black is applied using hill dyeing.

 

To make the black stronger, pigments and dyes are used

A half-and-half mix of "semi-aniline"

仕上げております。

 

Leaving the natural look of leather,

The softness of leather that cannot be achieved with 100% pigment

Changes over time due to repeated wearing

It's the best of both worlds, so you can enjoy it.

I grew up wearing them regularly.

Even if you look at the image,

I think you can see that it's falling straight down.

 

When you look at the denim we wore,

Colour fading will vary, but that's part of denim's charm.

 

The "Black Tag" series

It is positioned as XX fabric from the 40s.

 

It will be a dark denim.

Until the end of the war in 1945, the factory produced the S506XX and S501XX.

I had some leftover fabric that was used for these.

 

The "materials control" that was issued during the war was lifted,

Both the top and bottom are returning to pre-war detailing,

It will not return to its original shape immediately, but will change into a new fabric after several years.

 

The model with the new fabric is the later 1947 model.

 

This black tag is for denim that is in a transitional period before it is replaced with a new fabric.

It is a dark denim fabric.

 

The early 1947 models are JELADO's 407EXX/301EXX.
