〜Today's coat〜
Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.
On Monday, I introduced a native-patterned vest made of blanket fabric,
but today I would like to introduce a gown made of the same blanket fabric.
JELADO Crow Gown【AG82429】
The "Crow tribe" is said to have lived in the Yellowstone River region
upstream of the Missouri River on the North American continent.
The Crow tribe was said to have traded with white people,
mainly trading furs. However,
based on the hypothesis, "What if they were also trading Native American blanket fabric?",
we named it "Crow Gown."
This Crow Gown is produced using a jacquard loom, of which there is only one
in the Bishu region, centered in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture.
It is based on a 1920s-1930s blanket gown, with an arrangement
that allows it to open and close like a duffel coat.
It features a large shawl collar and recreated deformed patch pockets.
The pockets are piped, which, despite being an impactful design,
results in a luxurious coat.
For this blanket fabric,
we repeatedly tested to match the atmosphere of patterns from that era,
and it took two years to develop the pattern.
To express complex patterns with many colors,
we changed how the pattern is shown by using the fabric horizontally instead of vertically.
Please come and try on the Crow Gown, which uses special fabric
that cannot be mass-produced on the only loom in Bishu.
