it will be a bit long, but please do read it.

 

Reservations start tomorrow for the

Age of Longing 407EXX, which you all probably know is based on

 

the 40s LEVI'S 506XX.

The history of the 1st model is long, and according to the资料 I have, the 506XX already existed in 1904, making it a model that has been around for 120 years.

 

The red tab, which is now taken for granted, was first attached to the 506XX on July 1, 1937, at the suggestion of "Chris Lucia."

 

And as time went on, World War II began…

 

During this era, when changes in details were unavoidable due to material controls,

LEVI'S also faced this problem.

 

The previous five-button design was changed to four buttons, and the company-named buttons were replaced with laurel wreath buttons.

And the model where the chest pocket flap was removed was the "LEVI'S S506XX."

This is the very popular, commonly known as the "War Model," and JELADO offers it as a leather jacket

 

 

released under the name "44 Leather Jacket."

And after the war, with material controls lifted,

LEVI'S was returning to its original details, and the company was about to announce new denim,

but a new problem arose here.

 

That was, the fabric used for the war model

was still abundant at the factory.

Although cost was likely a factor,

they entered a transitional period where they would use up this fabric before switching to new denim.

 

JELADO's Age of Longing 407EXX

focuses on the LEVI'S 506XX from this transitional period,

 

 

it features a deep black denim.

This fabric is characterized by its slubby and uneven texture.

 

 

With repeated wear, it will age and

develop random vertical fading, like rain streaks.

 

The 1st type 407EXX, with its 15oz thickness and deep black color,

has the following characteristic details:

 

・Single-sided red tab

 

・Narrow waistband (compared to 406XX)

・Pin-back cinch buckle

・15oz

 

On the back, above the waistband, there is a cinch buckle,

which is used to adjust the size.

The white tag jacket, which features a familiar natural blue hue and excellent fabric softness and comfort,

is the 2nd type 406XX.

 

The differences from the 407EXX that I introduced earlier are:

 

・Two front pockets

・Double-sided red tab

 

・Wide waistband

・Side adjuster buttons

・14oz

 

The adjuster buttons on the waistband

allow for size adjustment.

 

 

Today's blog post introduced the differences between the 407EXX, which focuses on the transitional period from wartime until 1947 when LEVI'S announced new denim,

and the 406XX, which focuses on 50s XX fabric and is currently available in stores.
