The theme of the 2024 Spring/Summer Collection, "SPROUT," is based on the name of the vintage clothing store that Goto first founded, and aims to reproduce the collections and items purchased in America at that time.
A particularly noteworthy item in this collection is the printed corduroy shirt, which was popular among 1950s open-collar shirts during the vintage boom that began in the 1990s. While various patterns were developed, the chess pattern that you particularly desired has been released this time. This chess pattern is a very rare piece purchased from a vintage dealer in FRESNO, and it seems to be a memorable item that sold out immediately after being brought back to Japan.
The chess pattern featured in "FABULOUS 50S," published by a 1950s New York collector, has been reproduced. Using 14W corduroy fabric, the pattern is printed horizontally, reproducing the same colors and pattern size as those from the era. It is available in three base colors: black, vanilla, and turquoise, and the fabric weave is also matched to reproduce the atmosphere of the time.
This chess-patterned shirt has a boxy silhouette that pairs well with denim and chino pants, and it is an impactful item with high collectibility even when worn on its own.

The corduroy fabric also makes it soft and comfortable to wear against the skin.

My recommendation is turquoise. Please look forward to future coordination with upcoming items.

The theme for the 2024SS COLLECTION is "SPROUT." In line with this theme, we have diligently developed a 10.5 oz light-weight denim named "LASTRESORT Blue Tag" to recreate wartime overalls. This denim was created by deconstructing a 1940s LEE coverall, analyzing its threads, and drawing inspiration from the fading of existing vintage items to achieve a similar vertical fading effect. All accessories, including the deadstock housenovel overalls made during the wartime era, have been faithfully reproduced, with careful attention to detail in the design of the names and flasher. The flasher, which was typically made of paper, has been crafted from non-woven fabric to prevent tearing when washed, and the union ticket sewn inside the pocket is attached with a single stitch. The adjusters for the shoulder straps, the buttons for securing the shoulder straps, and the waist buttons are all realistically reproduced with laurel-leaf iron buttons. The snap buttons for securing the bib pocket were also specially made from iron to accurately replicate this model. The sewing threads are differentiated by white and black, with the front placket, shoulder straps, and hems sewn in black, giving it a more subdued and mature workwear impression compared to using all white thread. The silhouette is slightly wide to allow for a relaxed workwear style. As you wear them, the three different thicknesses of slub yarns will each emerge, creating a random vertical fade.

We have released "491-J" as a very special item. This item pays homage to "SPROUT," the vintage shop that was my starting point 20 years ago. To open this store, I saved money and went to America, gradually collecting items for the opening. Among them, I found a Lee house mark in my size, which I purchased and used as the basis for this item. We analyzed the fabric and developed 10.5 oz light-weight "LASTRESORT DENIM."
This special denim features construction not typically seen in light-weight denim, and the accompanying accessories were also planned to match.
All components, such as the large swing button, the small swing button for the sleeves, and the snap buttons used for the chest pockets, were custom-made.
As with items from that era, we used different gray and white sewing threads to create a more subdued and vintage feel. We also replicated the shape of the patch pockets on the front, reproducing Lee's unique style of sewing the bottom of the pocket straight while leaving a slight excess.
With wear, the uneven yarns, woven with three different thicknesses of warp threads, will emerge, allowing you to enjoy a random vertical fade reminiscent of vintage items.

 

It will be a perfect outerwear for early spring and early autumn.

We have developed a 10.5 oz light-weight denim called LASTRESORT "Blue Tag" and faithfully recreated 1940s painter pants.
This denim was created by deconstructing a 1940s LEE coverall, analyzing its threads, and studying the characteristics of vintage fading. As a result, we produced denim with a similar vertical fading effect. Using this fabric, we recreated 1940s housenovel painter pants.
We reproduced the vintage feel by leaving a slight excess at the center bottom of the pockets, a characteristic of LEE's work pants, and sewing them straight.
The warp threads are woven with three different counts of slub yarns, allowing you to enjoy a random vertical fade similar to those of the era. The weft threads are made of light gray sulfur-dyed fabric, which gives a deeper color than regular light-weight denim, allowing you to enjoy the difference in fading. Furthermore, a union ticket is sewn on the back of the right back pocket, paying attention to even the smallest details.
The front buttons also feature dome-shaped shanks, enhancing the vintage feel. We hope you will try our painter pants, which boast the highest quality in fabric, accessories, and sewing.
