What started pre-orders today is
LAST RESORT BLACK TAG
Age of Longing 301EXX
This model focuses on the early 1947 501XX.
While yellow stitching is common during this period,
orange stitching is used in various places,
including the back yoke. This specification
is called rainbow stitching. The 301EXX incorporates
this unique characteristic because the vintage it is based on
had this specification.
As you can see from the image, the denim fabric is not blue-toned,
but rather strongly black-toned.
While the later 1947 501XX featured a more blue-toned denim,
before its release, a strongly black-toned denim fabric
was used.
This is because after World War II,
Levi's factories had a surplus of black-toned fabric
that was used for the S506XX (wartime first model) and
S501XX (wartime 501XX).
Levi's continued to use this fabric until it was depleted,
before introducing the more blue-toned fabric.
The Age of Longing 301EXX is a transitional model from that period.
This image shows the reverse side, where you can see the nep texture.
This uneven and neppy fabric, after repeated wear and washing,
will show dramatic vertical fading.
This is after one year of wear.
You can clearly see the vertical fading.
I did squats every day for six months to grow a wild beard.
The rainbow stitching I mentioned earlier
is also clearly visible on the back.
When washed and tumble-dried,
the back yoke shrinks,
creating prominent puckering.
The edges of the pockets also look great.
These are 15oz dark denim jeans.
Unlike the 301XX (white tag) with the same model number,
these have a slim silhouette.
They are recommended for those who prefer a clean style,
so please come to the store and
try them on.
