Today, we'd like to introduce a classic fall/winter outerwear piece that JELADO releases every season.

 

POMONA Leather Pharaoh Jacket【SG94412】

 

This is the leather version of the Pharaoh jacket.

This season, we've already released two types: a short length, black version, and a salt & pepper coat length version. The final one to be released is the leather version.

We've crafted a Pharaoh jacket with a leather body, a rarity even among 1950s vintage pieces, using JELADO's standard semi-aniline horse leather.

The material used is approximately 1.6mm thick horsehide, tanned with a chrome and tannin combination.

After chrome tanning, the solution is washed off, and it's re-tanned with tannin to bring out the unique texture of tannin, achieving a robust feel and an increasing depth of character with wear. 

After dyeing the base a light brown, black is sprayed on with a hill-dyeing technique at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo, reproducing the profound look unique to tea-core leather.

This time, to achieve a deeper black, we used a semi-aniline finish blending pigment and dye in equal parts.

By balancing the permeability of dyes and the durability of pigments, this specification allows the underlying brown to emerge with wear, creating a unique aging process.

 

 

After hearing this explanation, surely JELADO fans have noticed something.

That's right, it uses the same leather as JELADO's classic leather jackets like the 44 Leather, Rebel Jacket, and sports jackets.

 And for the ribs, we used highly-regarded jacquard ribs from vintage pieces, and added a quilted lining to improve heat retention.

The result is a unique Pharaoh jacket that develops a richer texture with wear.
