~USMC M44 Monkey Pants~

【Pre-order item, arriving early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

Speaking of USMC M44 Monkey Pants, they were pants issued to the Marines.

They are a popular item in the vintage industry, affectionately known as "Monkey Pants."

The origin of the name is as follows...

Large, horizontally-oriented cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were adopted for carrying ponchos,

and the flaps were added to prevent contents from falling out.

Because these pockets resemble a monkey's buttocks,

they are called "Monkey Pants."

The M44 was actually produced for a very short period, only "1 year and 3 months,"

from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Furthermore, since they were issued to the "elite few" of the U.S. Marine Corps,

the overall production volume was low, which is why they command quite high prices in the vintage market.

The periods when the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them include...

・Battle of Iwo Jima (Feb 19, 1945 - Mar 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (Mar 26, 1945 - Sep 7, 1945).

And after World War II,

・Korean War (Jun 25, 1950 - Jul 27, 1953)

They seem to have been worn extensively during these times.
