~Malibu: The All-Rounder~

Today's blog post is about something I've introduced before,

but I'd like to present it again to highlight its versatility.

JELADO Malibu 【BL11220】

The 2025SS Malibu will be available in three colors:

Blueberry Milk

Cream Soda

and Lavender.

It features a boat neck, which has a relaxed fit around the collar,

so I would recommend it even just for that if you don't like tight necklines.

But above all, its ease of use is the key feature.

While it can be worn on its own,

I also recommend using it as an inner layer. I own two Malibu shirts myself,

and in spring and autumn, I love layering them as innerwear.

I particularly like pairing them with three-quarter sleeve sweatshirts.

~USMC M44 Monkey Pants~

USMC M44 Monkey Pants were issued to the Marine Corps,

and are popular items in the vintage industry, affectionately known as "Monkey Pants."

The origin of that name is as follows...

The large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were designed to hold a "poncho,"

and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.

These pockets are said to resemble the buttocks of a monkey,

hence the name "Monkey Pants."

The production period for the M44 was

actually very short, just "1 year and 3 months,"

from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Also, because they were issued to the "elite few"

of the U.S. Marine Corps, the overall production volume was low,

which is why they command quite high prices in the vintage market.

The period when the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them includes...

・The Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 - March 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 - September 7, 1945).

Also, after World War II, during

・The Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953).

It seems they were worn extensively during these times.

Jelado's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.

Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.

And the buttons are doughnut buttons,

which also adds to the vintage feel.

By wearing them consistently,

you can enjoy their aging process.

They pair very well with Native patterned half-length coats,

leather jackets... and even

coveralls.

I personally recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
