When it comes to LEVI'S icons,

it's this model number... the 501.

Among the 501s,

a highly regarded model is the

1947 501XX.

The 1947 501XX is called this

because many brands started making clothes

based on this 501XX.

"The greatest masterpiece in 501XX history"

That's the '47 501XX, but

actually, the 501XX from this era

is divided into early and late versions.

What does this mean??

I'd like to explain it.

World War II ended in 1945.

Until 1945, when the war ended,

each Levi's factory was producing

wartime models (S501XX / S506XX).

However, with the end of the war and the lifting of material controls,

LEVI'S reverted to the 501XX before the detail changes,

but each factory had leftover fabric

that had been used for wartime models.

So, instead of immediately using new denim fabric,

they used up the leftover fabric before reverting to the 501XX

from before material controls.

*Although I wrote "501XX from before material controls,"

some details were eliminated.

Therefore, from the end of the war in 1945

to 1947,

there was a transitional period.

Since this transitional period crossed over into 1947 a bit,

it is divided into early and late versions.

So, what is the early 1947 version?

Because it uses the fabric from wartime models,

the denim fabric is characterized by a strong dark hue.

The late 1947 version (the greatest masterpiece in 501XX history)

refers to a natural denim fabric with a strong blue tint.

Jelado's Last Resort fabric

comes in a white label "white tag" and

a black label "black tag."

The reason for dividing them into these two tags is that

they focus on different eras.

The white tag I mentioned earlier, since it's a denim fabric with a strong blue tint,

is positioned as "50s XX."

The black tag, as vintage lovers may have heard,

is positioned as "40s XX" because it's a denim fabric with a strong black tint.

The "black tag" that I will introduce this time,

as I wrote above, has been one year

since its release today.

So, let's compare the 301EXX worn by two WEST staff members

with the new product.

(Uemura / 11 months of wear)

Naturally, since the way they're worn differs,

the fading will also be completely different.

For example, riding a bicycle to work versus taking the train to work

will result in different knee creases and thigh rub, creating color differences.

Also, whether you bought a slightly loose size or a just-fit size

will create a difference in the honeycomb fading behind the knees.

Nonetheless, we both are still breaking them in,

so we look forward to enjoying the aging process in the future.
