This time, I would like to talk about "Mexican rings." Whether you already know about them or are hearing about them for the first time, I hope you will be interested.

I don't know much about Mexican rings either, so I would like to learn about their appeal in this blog.

 

 

 

"Mexican Biker RingIt is a rugged ring with a skull motif on top, known overseas as "Mexican Ring". In our country, it is called "Mexican Ring" and is a popular silver accessory.ICE CREAMHowever, we also have a selection of our own original works.

 

Historically, this ring originated in a small town near the Mexican border, and became popular among the American biker community, and its name spread throughout the world. The accessories that bikers used to wear are now supported by a wide range of people.

 

The materials used for Mexican rings were nickel, bronze, and brass in the early days of biker rings. Later, metals such as steel and titanium were used, and they evolved with consideration of durability and cost. However, they still retain their unique charm by using silver and copper.

 

Typical motifs of rings include horses and horseshoes, animals, skulls, sugar skulls, iron crosses, Indians, Aztec civilization, and Kokopelli (fairies). There are many attractive designs, so you can have fun finding an accessory that suits you.

First of all, the base of this Mexican ring is silver, and the top and sides are brass (an alloy of copper and zinc). Many vintage items use copper, but copper is weak and can chip or crack with use, so Gerard uses brass, which is strong and develops a more beautiful appearance with use. As you can see in the image, it features a skull and crossbones wearing a helmet, and a horse and hoofs on both sides. The back of the ring says, "ICE CREAM""Starry Gate" is also engraved on the ring. A thick brass base is used on top of the silver to create a strong impact, giving the ring a more vintage feel. This is a skull ring with an overwhelming presence.

Next is a Mexican ring with a Virgin Mary motif. The area around Mary is colored white by melting acrylic resin. This is the same technique used for the original Mexican rings. The side features a lily pattern. The lily is used as a symbol of purity in Christianity. The back of the ring reads,ICE CREAM""Starry Gate" is also engraved on the ring. This ring has both presence and elegance, so it is recommended for those who want to enjoy the changes that occur over time and those looking for an impactful ring.

Finally, here is a Mexican ring with an Indian feather motif. The feathers on this ring are colored. Acrylic resin is used for the feathers. By using acrylic resin, the color comes out beautifully, and since it is the same specification that was used back then, it has a more vintage feel. The color of this acrylic resin will peel off with use, but please note that this is also a vintage-style item. As you can see in the image, an owl is drawn on the side.
