Today, we will be introducing the Farmers Shirt, which can be worn alone now and will be a great inner layer in the coming seasons.

This is the ultimate flannel shirt, packed with JELADO's dedication and attention to detail. However, once the fabric stock runs out, there are currently no plans for further production. Please enjoy this article to the end and consider it.

JELADO's classic Union Workers Shirt sampled the dry-textured heavy flannel of store brands from the 1970s onwards.

In contrast, the Farmers Shirt we are introducing today is inspired by flannel shirts from before the 1950s, which had a very soft texture.

We sampled a vintage Pilgrim shirt, a representative brand of flannel shirts from before the 1950s. Similar to our Last Resort denim, we meticulously reproduced this precious vintage flannel shirt by cutting and analyzing its fabric. The color is almost indistinguishable from the vintage piece.

It is available in two colors: Salmon Raw (red) and Mint (green).

Analyzing the fabric revealed distinct characteristics in this vintage piece: a difference in yarn count between the warp and weft, and a low thread count. Most notably, the weft yarn was found to be exceptionally long-staple. This was the secret to its supple texture, a discovery only made possible by cutting into the fabric.

Based on the analysis of the vintage piece, this item uses a very thick and long-staple yarn for the weft compared to the warp. Generally, the longer the fiber length of the yarn, the higher quality and more comfortable the fabric is said to be. Thanks to this, we were able to create a blissful flannel fabric that feels like a fluffy blanket.

 

We also paid close attention to dyeing, using sulfur dyes. As you wear it, it will develop a unique vintage-like aging.
