From The 2 Monkeys, we'd like to introduce a particularly unique item among them.
The 2 Monkeys Métis Duster Coat【TM13451】
Carriages were the primary mode of transportation from the 19th to the early 20th century. At that time, roads were often unpaved, leading to abundant dust. Furthermore, the coachman's seat was completely exposed without doors or a roof, so they were directly hit by the dust kicked up by the wheels.
Long, lightweight coats like these were highly valued as protection against dust. In American casual wear, a similar item in terms of function might be the leather car coat used back when open-top cars were the only option.
The 2 Monkeys' duster coat is based on a vintage piece owned by designer Suzuki.It's a very elaborate piece made with tightly woven linen and hand-stitched, clearly using a different pattern from modern mass-produced items. We've reproduced as many details of such vintage items as possible.
