Today I would like to introduce my best buys from JELADO over the past year.

 

 

 

First off, here are my best buy items.

 

 

The 2 Monkeys Sportif Black Calf [TM72924] Price: ¥121,000 (tax included) 

The 2 Monkeys' Sportif boots are designed based on the boots worn for hunting and outdoor activities in France around the 1920s and 30s. However, they are not a reproduction of an actual old boot. They use the style that was mainly found in European boots at the time, and incorporate the moccasin-type toe design that was popular in America at the same time.

The leather is French calfskin, which is soft and conforms to your feet. The leather is hill-dyed black, and the brown core that appears as you wear it highlights the changes that occur over time.

The sole in particular has a taste of the era. The tread area is made with the Goodyear welt method, and the waist to heel is made with the McKay method, which narrows the waist significantly to recreate the style of a spade sole. If you look at the sole from the bottom, you can see how narrow the waist is.

The top and bottom of the heel are S-shaped. The soft leather faithfully reproduces the shape of the wooden last, and the pitch on the small heel accentuates the curve. The curves are combined on the front, back, left and right sides of the shoe, creating an elegant style that is in line with traditional European aesthetics.

The toe is fitted with a thin leather toe cap that is easy to wear. As you wear the shoes, you can enjoy the change in the toes as they flatten and sink, and the leather will become more comfortable all the way to your toes.

The sole has a 3mm thick rubber sheet on the tread area. The heel top lift is made of rubber and is 10mm thick. These rubbers on the contact surface grip the road firmly, preventing slipping and reducing wear on the sole.

The comfort is light and soft. This is due to the combination of the leather's characteristics, unique manufacturing process, and a well-curved sole (single leather sole). If you are used to wearing work boots, you will be surprised at how light they are and how comfortable they feel from the moment you put them on.

The E-width sportif last is designed to fit a standard foot a little loosely, but even people with narrower feet can tighten the laces to get a good fit. This is thanks to the softness of the leather. People with high insteps and wide feet can choose a size slightly larger than their foot length without losing much of the fit. The sole width is narrowed at the arch, which is an advantage of the soft leather that sits on the foot.

Not only do they offer elegant style and the joy of aging, but they also incorporate the comfort that was characteristic of leather shoes from the 1920s and 30s.

From the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, a number of European shoemakers traveled to America to learn about mass production. It was during this period that Europe, with its long traditions, and America, which was quick to establish a mass production system in response to the rapid expansion of population due to immigration and economic development, influenced and improved each other in the field of shoemaking.

The 2 Monkeys' Sportif boots are modeled after boots common to Europe and America at that time, and are a rare breed of boots that suit both American and European styles.

 

I continued wearing them for about a year.

 

In fact, the first pair of boots I ever bought were these Sportifs.

I saw it for the first time while working at JELADO and wanted to buy it.

They are so light and comfortable you wouldn't believe they are boots.

The appeal of these boots is that not many people wear them, so you won't run into anyone else.

I actually wore them every day.

 

 

Next up is this

 

JELADO 44Leather Jacket (44 Leather Jacket) Horse hide Semi-aniline Finish [JP94409]

Price: ¥181,500 (tax included)

 

The material used this time is a newly developed horsehide that is approximately 1.6 mm thick and has been combination tanned (chrome x tannin).
After tanning with chrome, the solvent is washed away and the leather is tanned again with tannin, bringing out the best in the tannin and giving the leather a moderate weightiness and a more comfortable feel when worn.
The base is dyed light brown and then black is applied using a hill dye at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo.
This time, to produce a stronger black, we finished it with semi-aniline, a mixture of half pigment and half dye.
The dyes that infuse the base with colour and the pigments that form the coating on top match perfectly, resulting in a beautiful aging effect as the garment is worn.
The leather is softer than 100% pigment, and because it is coated with a thin coating, the color of the base will quickly show through once you wear it.

The buttons are blue rust-finished laurel buttons.
The design reproduces the T-back detail on the back, which was only available for sizes 46 and above at the time.
For the larger sizes, due to the width (area) of the fabric, the design at the time was made by splitting the fabric into two pieces and sewing them together in the middle, but we have recreated this detail that is now known as a "T-back" and is popular among vintage enthusiasts.
It also has a buckle back.
The silhouette is slightly longer than the vintage 1st and is a little more streamlined.
This is a piece that allows you to experience the simple design of the 1st type and the quality of the soft, easy-to-wear horse leather.
This is a versatile leather jacket that can be worn regardless of age, coordination, or style.

 

 

 

The size is 41khaki. The jacket I'm wearing is size L.

This leather jacket was also the first item I purchased.

I always thought it was cool, but I couldn't buy it because it sold out quickly, but I was lucky enough to buy one. However, I was only able to buy it in the middle of May, so I didn't get to wear it much...

I'd like to wear it this fall and winter. I'd like to let it grow slowly.

It's a masculine product, a cool leather jacket, so I think this will be a popular item.

 

 

 

Next up is this.

JELADO Age of Longing Black Tag 407EXX Denim JKT [JP94407ED] Price: ¥45,100 (tax included)

JELADO Age of Longing Black tag 301EXX Denim Pants [JP94301E] Price: ¥35,200 (tax included)

 

This is a set. The size is a denim jacket. The denim is W32.

Black tag setup.

301EXX was the first pair of jeans I bought after joining the company.

I wore them almost every day except for summer for a year. Because of the way I wore them, they got whiskers and I enjoyed seeing the color fade.

I still want to enjoy the aging process, so I'd like to continue wearing them.

I bought the denim jacket at the end of December and wore it through January, February, March and April.

I noticed that the more I wore the denim and denim jackets, the softer the fabric became and the more comfortable they became for my body.

While wearing it I could tell that both the top and bottom were popular items.

It's difficult to find the same top and bottom at the same time, but it's an item I recommend.

 

This is my best buy.

There are many other recommended items from this year, but we have carefully selected the ones we think are the best.

I've enjoyed coordinating JELADO products for all seasons, and I plan to continue wearing them in the future.
