Today, I would like to introduce my best buy JELADO items from this past year.

My best buy item is this one.

The 2 Monkeys Sportif Black Calf【TM72924】Price ¥121,000 (tax included)

The 2 Monkeys Sportif boots are designed to evoke the boots worn for hunting and outdoor activities in France around the 1920s to 1930s. However, they are not a reproduction of a real vintage boot. They incorporate the style of boots primarily found in Europe at the time, while also featuring the moccasin-toe design that was popular in America during the same period.

The leather is soft and conforms to the foot, made from French calf. The leather is dip-dyed black, and the brown core that emerges with wear enhances its aging process.

The sole area, in particular, incorporates the taste of the era. By using the Goodyear welt construction for the forepart and the McKay process from the waist to the heel, the waist is significantly narrowed to reproduce the spade sole style. Looking at the sole from below, you can clearly see the degree of this waist narrowing.

The heel's upper and lower parts form an S-shape. The soft leather perfectly reproduces the shape of the last, and the pitch on the small heel accentuates its curve. Curves are combined throughout the front, back, left, and right of the shoe, creating an elegant style that aligns with traditional European aesthetics.

The toe features a thin, comfortable leather toe cap. As the boots are worn, the toe flattens and sinks, allowing you to enjoy the aging process and the leather conforming to your foot.

A 3mm-thick rubber sheet is attached to the ball of the sole. The heel's top lift is a 10mm rubber one. These rubber contact surfaces firmly grip the road, prevent slipping, and reduce sole wear.

The comfort is exceptionally light and soft. This is due to a combination of the leather's characteristics, the unique construction method, and a flexible sole (single leather sole). Those accustomed to work boots will surely be surprised by the lightness and the immediate comfort they feel upon slipping their feet in.

The Sportif last, equivalent to an E width, is designed for a slightly relaxed fit for standard foot shapes. However, even those with narrow feet can tighten the laces to ensure a secure fit, thanks to the softness of the leather. For those with high insteps and wide feet, even if you choose a slightly larger size compared to your foot length, the fit will not be significantly compromised. This is the benefit of the foot resting on the soft leather, as the sole width is narrowed at the arch.

It not only offers an elegant style and the joy of aging, but also incorporates the comfort characteristics of leather shoes from the 1920s and 1930s.

In the late 19th to early 20th century, a considerable number of European shoemakers traveled to America to learn about mass production systems. This era saw Europe, with its long traditions, and America, which quickly established mass production systems to meet the rapidly expanding population due to immigration and economic development, influencing and elevating each other in shoemaking.

The 2 Monkeys Sportif boots are a rare type of boot that aligns with the commonalities of boots in Europe and America during that era, making them suitable for both American and European tastes.

I've been wearing them for about a year.

Actually, this Sportif was the first pair of boots I ever bought.

I wanted them as soon as I saw them when I started working at JELADO, so I bought them.

They are very light and so comfortable that they don't feel like boots.

Since not many people wear them, the fact that they are unique is what makes them so appealing.

I really wore them every day.

Next up is this.

JELADO 44Leather Jacket Horse hide Semi-aniline Finish【JP94409】

Price ¥181,500 (tax included)

This material uses newly developed horsehide, approximately 1.6mm thick, processed with a combination (chrome x tannin) tanning method.
After chrome tanning, the solvents are washed away and the leather is re-tanned with tannin, bringing out the best qualities of tannin. This results in leather with a moderate sense of weight and enhanced character as it is worn.
The base is dyed a light brown, and then, at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo, black is applied through dip-dyeing, creating a tea-core leather.
To achieve a stronger black, this time it's finished with semi-aniline, mixing pigment and dye half-and-half.
The dye, which colors the base, and the pigment, which forms a coating on top, match perfectly, leading to excellent aging with wear.
It offers a softness of leather not found in 100% pigment, and with a thin coating, the base color quickly emerges as it is worn.

The buttons are laurel wreath buttons with a blue-rust finish.
The design reproduces the "T-back" detail on the back, which was originally a specification only for sizes 46 and above.
Due to the fabric width (area) for larger sizes, the design at the time involved using two pieces of fabric sewn together in the middle. This is now known as a "T-back" and is a detail favored by vintage enthusiasts.
Furthermore, the back has a buckle-back.
The silhouette is slightly longer than vintage 1st types and a bit more streamlined.
This jacket allows you to experience the simple design of the 1st type and the goodness of soft, easy-to-wear horse leather.
It is a versatile leather jacket that can be worn regardless of age, coordination, or style.

The size indicated is 41khaki. The jacket I'm wearing is size L.

This leather jacket was also the first item I purchased.

I always thought it was cool, but it sold out quickly so I couldn't buy it. However, I was lucky enough to get one. I bought it in mid-May, so I didn't get to wear it much...

I plan to wear it this fall and winter. I want to slowly "break it in."

It's a rugged and cool leather jacket, so I understand why it's a popular item.

JELADO Age of Longing Black tag 301EXX Denim Pants【JP94301E】Price ¥35,200 (tax included)

This is a set-up. The size indicated is a denim jacket. The jeans are W32.

It's a black tag set-up.

The 301EXX was the first pair of jeans I bought after joining the company.

I wore them almost every day for a year, except in the summer. I enjoyed seeing the whiskers and fading develop according to how I wore them.

I can still enjoy the aging process, so I plan to keep wearing them in the future.

I bought the denim jacket at the end of December and wore it in January, February, March, and April.

I noticed that both the jeans and the denim jacket became softer and conformed to my body the more I wore them.

I also realized that both top and bottom items are popular products while wearing them.

It's often difficult to get a matching set at the same time, but these are my recommended items.

These are my personal best buys.

There are many other recommended items I've discovered this past year, but I've carefully selected these few.

I've enjoyed coordinating JELADO products throughout the four seasons, and I plan to continue wearing them.
