Today, we'd like to introduce The 2 Monkeys' Cambrai shirt, which just arrived recently.

The 2 Monkeys Linen Cambrai Shirt【TM11150】

The Cambrai shirt is named after Cambrai, a town in northern France that was the origin of the word "Chambray Shirt."

Cambrai was a town renowned for producing delicate and beautiful plain-woven linen fabrics.

This linen Cambrai shirt uses a light, thin, plain-woven linen fabric, similar to those woven in Cambrai.

While incorporating the silhouette of a mid-19th century shirt, it's tailored to harmonize with modern casual styles like American casual.

The cuffs and

collar feature ample gathers.

The sides have gussets, a detail often seen in old shirts.

These details, combined with the generous body, create a distinctive atmosphere unique to The 2 Monkeys.

While pullover types were mainstream for shirts at the time, this one has been arranged with a full-front opening for ease of use.

Currently, all colors and sizes are available in store. Please consider it.

〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜

【Pre-order item, expected arrival early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

Speaking of USMC M44 Monkey Pants,

these pants were issued to the Marine Corps, but

they are affectionately known as 'Monkey Pants'

and are a popular item in the vintage market.

The origin of their name is as follows:

Large, horizontally-oriented cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were designed to hold a 'poncho',

and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.

These pockets resemble the hindquarters of a monkey,

hence the name 'Monkey Pants'.

The production period for the M44 was

actually very short, lasting only '1 year and 3 months',

from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Additionally, they were issued to the 'elite few'

of the US Marine Corps, so the overall production volume was low,

making them quite expensive in the vintage market.

The period during which the US Marine Corps

actually wore them was:

・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19, 1945 – March 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26, 1945 – September 7, 1945).

They also seemed to have been worn extensively

during the Korean War (June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953)

after World War II.

Jelado's Monkey Pants use herringbone fabric.

Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.

The buttons are donut buttons, adding to the vintage feel.

You can enjoy the aging process as you wear them.

With a native print half-length coat or

a leather jacket... and even

coveralls, it pairs very well.

I also recommend pairing it with a chambray shirt.

・Hem alterations for "JELADO products purchased from our dealers" will incur a fee.
