This time, I'll also be interspersing some vintage stories,
so it will be a bit long, but please take a look.
Pre-orders have begun for the
Age of Longing 407EXX, which I'm sure you all know is based on
the 40s LEVI'S 506XX.
The history of the 1st model is long, and according to the materials I have,
the 506XX existed in 1904, meaning it's a model that has been around for
120 years, based on these materials.
Then, on July 1, 1937, the red tab, which is now taken for granted,
was first attached to the 506XX at the suggestion of Chris Lucia.
Time passed, and then came World War II...
In this era, when changes in details were unavoidable due to wartime rationing,
LEVI'S also faced this problem.
The previous 5-button design changed to 4 buttons,
and instead of buttons with the company name, laurel buttons were used.
The model with the chest pocket flap removed is known as
"LEVI'S S506XX,"
a very popular model commonly called the "War Model,"
which JELADO has released as a leather jacket
under the name "44 Leather Jacket."
※I will omit the detailed explanation this time.
After the war, with rationing lifted,
LEVI'S was about to revert to its original details when a new problem arose.
The fabric used for the wartime model
was still abundant in the factory.
I imagine it was also a matter of cost, but
after using up this fabric without discarding it,
they entered a transitional period of switching to new denim.
Jelado's Age of Longing 407EXX focuses on
LEVI'S 506XX from this transitional period,
we've adopted a very dark denim.
It's a slubby fabric with a lot of unevenness.
With repeated wear, it will age beautifully,
creating random vertical fades like rain streaks.
The 1st type 407EXX, with its 15oz thickness and dark hue,
has the following distinctive features:
・Single pocket on the left side only
・Single-sided red tab
・Narrow waistband (compared to 406XX)
・Cinch back with needle
・15oz
On the back, above the waistband, there is a cinch buckle,
which is used to adjust the size.
This popular item is finally available for pre-order,
so please try it on at the store, confirm the fit, and then place your pre-order.
