Today, we have tailored an authentic N-1 using 'LASTRESORT DENIM', JELADO's original fabric, a collaboration product with COLIMBO.
Colimbo's brand name comes from the water bird "grebe," reflecting the excellent properties of its superb plumage. Their feathers boast exceptional water repellency and heat retention, used to protect against the severe cold and water of winter. Based on these characteristics, Colimbo meets the demands of real outdoorsmen who operate in harsh conditions, providing "toughness products" that can be cherished for a long time.
Colimbo primarily offers outdoor equipment, from military to mountain garments, with gear designed from a unique perspective. The brand's concept varies by individual brand, and products are developed based on that concept.

This N-1 jacket was issued to US Navy ship crews at the end of World War II. The length has been extended slightly from the short type to cover the waist, and the cuffs have been changed to a ribbed design. The collar is a stand-up type, and like the body, it has a two-layer structure of fabric and alpaca lining, making it a jacket with excellent windproof and cold protection performance. Based on the earliest model of the N-1 production lot, which spanned three periods, this jacket is a faithful reproduction of a vintage piece.
The Last Resort white tag gives it a special touch.
The denim used for the outer shell of this jacket, which faithfully reproduces details such as the nickel zipper seen in early N-1 models, the loop on the lining side of the hem, and the alpaca lining extending to the cuffs, has been one-washed, so there is no extreme shrinkage.
The more you wear it, the more you will enjoy its aging, and it will be a perfect match for chinos and baker pants.

"LASTRESORT DENIM" is JELADO's finest masterpiece, a wild denim with a strong vintage feel.
This is the first 1ST TYPE denim jacket from JELADO, using a black tag.
The fabric has been changed from the 1ST model, which was first produced in the ecru white tag this season, and is now a reproduction in indigo with a black tag.
The LASTRESORT DENIM black tag is sewn on the inside of the pocket, and it is a special 15 oz denim reproduced from denim that disassembled and analyzed DEADSTOCK XX, created with a new approach different from the white tag.
The prominent features of the 1st type, such as the 1-pocket with flap, single-sided tab, 5 buttons, inner cuff buttons, and back strap, are all faithfully reproduced.
When dividing this 1st type into early and late periods, the early period had a pin-buckle back strap and the box stitching securing the pleats was misaligned with the buttons. This model similarly reproduces the early period with varied button and stitch heights and a pin-buckle back strap.
Since the black tag is made as a fabric from before the 40s, it approaches the same era.
Compared to the 2nd Type, we followed details such as the collar being set separately on the left and right, and the sleeves forming a T-shape when laid flat, to a wearable extent.
Similar to the vintage items we own, the lapped seams are sewn with 20 count thread, and the main seams with 30 count thread.
The leather patch is made of horsehide, with a single-sided embroidered rayon tab, plated original iron buttons, and original copper rivets, all meticulously crafted.
Due to production specifications, sizes L and above, where fabric width is insufficient, will feature a T-back design.

~LASTRESORT BLACK TAG~
This is the ultimate denim, created by disassembling DEAD STOCK from that era, and having a certain analytical institution measure everything from the length of the cotton fibers, the thickness and twist count of the yarn, to the number of threads per inch of fabric. We selected raw cotton that matched these values from data of 2 DEAD STOCK pieces from similar periods, spun the yarn, and wove it on a 50s loom with the same thread count.
By making this denim, we gained a deep understanding of the characteristics of XX denim from that time, such as the quality of the yarn and the texture of the fabric, and the differences from modern denim.
Among them, if I were to talk about a clear process that we deliberately didn't touch upon in our mission to reproduce XX, it would be “color.”
The LASTRESORT black tag was created to reproduce the texture and color of denim woven under conditions where spinning technology was less developed and yarn quality was poorer than today, in order to achieve a vintage-like color.
We used the same raw cotton for the warp and weft as the white tag (warp: EMOT, weft: California Pima) to make the yarn, but we manipulated the warp to easily create slubs, resulting in a stronger unevenness.
This is a denim jacket with carefully selected materials.
By making the unevenness strong, vertical fading can be prolonged.
Looking at the vintage items we targeted, the dullness or conspicuousness of the weft color was notable. The color of the cotton at the time seemed more like a yellowish ecru than pure white.
To match this depth of color, we decided to dye the yarn after it was made and then weave the fabric.
By changing the dyeing factory from the white tag, the color has become completely different.
The height of the rope and the dyeing process also differ depending on the dyeing factory, so the color rendition changes.
And due to this difference in process, the white tag became 14OZ and the black tag became 15OZ, resulting in a change in fabric weight.
Also, by intentionally deep dyeing it 8 times, it became a denim with a darker, deeper blue. We decided to use this denim, with its deep color and wild unevenness, as the “LASTRESORT DENIM black tag” model, seeking a more heritage texture.
Although it has a wilder appearance and fabric touch, after just 2 days of wear, it transforms into a soft and smooth comfort like the white tag, with no stress.
