This is an exquisite A-2 from Rainbow Country, which has taken Rough Wear, a representative contractor that was responsible for manufacturing A-2 flight jackets, and made it even more stylish than the vintage original.

 

 

What is an A-2 flight jacket?

 

 

The A-2 flight jacket is a masterpiece that was supplied to pilots of the US Army Air Forces (before the Air Force was established) during World War II, and is considered the ultimate flight jacket, or even leather jacket.

 

 

One of its characteristics is the flap pocket, which is said to have been designed this way to maintain military discipline, as it is impossible to put one's hands in from the side.

 

 

Furthermore, the A-2 from Rough Wear, which Rainbow Country is reproducing, features distinctive details such as a high collar with a stand.

 

While vintage pieces have a somewhat unfashionable silhouette that doesn't suit Japanese body types, Rainbow Country has slimmed down the armholes and body width, and also lengthened the hem for a more stylish, modern look.

The ribs are mixed ribs.

The lining is 100% cotton fabric.

 

The zipper is a Rainbow Country original "CAL-MFG" auto-lock zipper made from a mold.

This is an original zipper made by pressing, similar to vintage ones.

It is designed with a size that pursues visual coolness, with slimmed-down arms, body width, and waist, resulting in a sleek silhouette that can be worn cleanly.

This A-2 is highly recommended for those who love leather aging, including changes in gloss and grain from wear, and those who enjoy breaking in leather.
