We thoroughly analyzed vintage elements to create a new flannel shirt. To reproduce the thick yet soft fabric of pre-1950s flannel, we meticulously analyzed vintage flannel materials. Similar to Lee's workwear, we analyzed fiber length, twist coefficient, yarn count, and thread count to develop a completely new flannel fabric. Representative brands with pre-1950s flannel materials include Pilgrim, Winterking, and Kingkole, and this time we analyzed Pilgrim's flannel shirt.

This flannel shirt is dyed with sulfide dyes. Although the demand for sulfide dyeing has decreased in recent years and raw materials are scarce, we created this flannel shirt using this rare material. As you wear it, you can enjoy the unique aging process, such as color fading and a soft texture. The special towel-like fabric will become addictive with every wear.

Using this exquisite flannel fabric, we tailored it into a simple work shirt from the same era. It features a flapless pocket, allowing you to enjoy vintage-like styling. The sizing is similar to our Union Worker Shirt Regular Length (standard flannel shirt), further enhancing the vintage atmosphere.

It's a really soft and comfortable shirt to wear.

This flannel shirt was created by our representative, Goto, who meticulously cut and analyzed vintage fabrics from that era.

It's a new flannel shirt created with great attention to detail.

Similar to vintage pieces of that era, we commissioned skilled artisans in Kiryu, who still uphold traditional embroidery techniques, to painstakingly embroider this ultimate souvenir jacket using the same rayon thread and横振りミシン (yokoburi-mishin - a type of free-motion embroidery machine) as in the past. The vintage piece we based it on was a one-of-a-kind military Sukajan (souvenir jacket) ordered by an Air Force soldier, which we faithfully reproduced. To ensure an even better reproduction, we paid close attention to the materials. The velour is a domestically produced material with a firm texture and subdued luster. The rayon satin lining has a lustrous finish from filament warp threads and a voluminous feel from spun weft threads.
Since it's 100% rayon, faithfully reproducing vintage Sukajan, you can experience the texture of those authentic vintage jackets. Furthermore, just like back then, quilting is done by hand after embroidery, making it an exceptionally elaborate piece. For the padding, we replicated the "wadding" used in vintage jackets and furniture, using real waste cotton made from various discarded fiber materials. Therefore, while we cannot provide detailed quality information, we hope those who appreciate such items will wear it and experience the genuine vintage feel and weight.

The embroidery is also quite intricate and elaborate.

Sportif is a French vintage-style moccasin-type boot. (A moccasin is a shoe with a structure that wraps around the foot using a single piece of leather, originating from the slip-on shoes worn by Native Americans.
The type with a U-shaped upper sewn together was later developed, and the method of sewing this upper together is called "moccasin stitching," hence the name "moccasin.")

The Sportif last, equivalent to an E width, is designed for a slightly relaxed fit for standard-shaped feet, but even those with narrower feet can achieve a snug fit by tightening the laces firmly. This is due to the softness of the leather. Even those with high insteps and wide feet can choose a slightly larger size than their foot length without significantly compromising the fit. The sole width is narrowed at the arch, allowing the foot to rest on the soft leather.

The 2 Monkeys Sportif boots are designed to evoke the image of boots worn for hunting and outdoor activities in France around the 1920s to 1930s.

The construction of the toe part is Goodyear welted, and from the waist to the heel, it is made with the McKay process, taking a considerable amount of time to manufacture, but wouldn't you agree that it's a boot where you can enjoy the attention to detail?

From the inside, it looks dressy and appears as an elegant boot, while from the outside, it resembles a work boot.

The heel features an S-shaped curve at the top and bottom, giving it a sleek and smart appearance.

The leather used is French calf (calf leather from calves under six months old, with high-quality French calf being particularly fine-grained and soft) that matches the shape of this boot. As you wear them, the leather conforms to your feet, making them truly comfortable boots.

The black is "oka-zome" (a dyeing method where dye is applied to undyed fabric with a spray or brush; the dye hardly penetrates the leather, so the cross-section appears undyed). As it ages, it will change to a brown core, developing a rich character.

I also wear them regularly, and a faint brown core has started to appear. The wrinkles have also developed nicely.

Maintenance is also easy and hassle-free.

After wearing them, please brush them with a horsehair brush, and apply oil every 3-4 months, followed by brushing.

Since the stitching thread is brown, when using colored cream, it may transfer color to the thread, so we recommend using colorless cream.

The Sportif boot, which combines American casual fashion with French European taste, is a highly recommended boot.
