This time, I'll be interweaving some vintage talk,

so please bear with me, it will be a long read.

 

Reservations have started for the

Age of Longing 407EXX, which, as you may know,

is based on the 40s LEVI'S 506XX.

The 1st type has a long history, and according to my references,

the 506XX already existed in 1904.

Based on this data, it's a model that has existed for 120 years.

 

The red tab, which is now standard, was first attached to the 506XX on July 1, 1937,

at the suggestion of Chris Lucia.

 

Time passed, and then came World War II...

 

Due to wartime material controls, detail changes were unavoidable in this era,

and LEVI'S also faced this issue.

 

The previous 5-button closure was changed to 4 buttons,

and the company-branded buttons were replaced with laurel wreath buttons.

The model with the chest pocket flap removed is known as

"LEVI'S S506XX,"

the popular "War Model,"

which JELADO released as a leather jacket

 

 

under the name "44Leather Jacket."

※I will omit detailed information this time.

 

After the war, with material controls lifted,

LEVI'S was about to revert to the original details and planning to release new denim,

but a new problem arose.

 

There was a large quantity of fabric used for the War Model

remaining in the factory.

Although there were likely cost considerations,

they entered a transitional period where this fabric was used up before transitioning to new denim.

 

JELADO's Age of Longing 407EXX focuses on the LEVI'S 506XX from this transitional period,

 

 

we have adopted a deep black denim.

It's a highly irregular fabric with a nep feel.

 

 

Through repeated wear, it will undergo aging and

develop random vertical fading, like falling rain.

 

The 1st type 407EXX features a 15oz thickness and a deep black color.

Its distinctive details are:

 

・Single pocket on the left side only

・Single-sided red tab

 

・Narrow waistband (compared to 406XX)

・Pin-back cinch buckle

・15oz

 

The back features a "cinch buckle" (obi-jo)

above the waistband, which is used for size adjustment.

 

Reservations for this popular item have finally begun,

so please try it on in-store and make your reservation after confirming the fit.
