This Spring's Recommendation: Sashiko Westcoast Shirt ~Flagship Store~
Share
Thank you for always visiting our store.
The weather has warmed up considerably, and it's now the season when you can comfortably go out in just a shirt.
With that in mind, today we'd like to tell you about our recommended Sashiko Westcoast shirt for this spring.

JELADO Westcoast Shirt Sashiko [SG01103]
The classic JELADO open-collar Westcoast shirt is made from a sashiko-style check fabric.

This is a special fabric woven using a dobby loom, following the technique of sashiko weaving.

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese weaving technique that creates patterns by interlacing threads. This sashiko pattern is reproduced on a dobby loom, which can create complex patterns by opening the warp threads.
You can see from the photos that the weave pattern has a three-dimensional and立体感(3D effect) to it.

The sashiko-style check pattern is expressed using indigo threads dyed in a light indigo color (asagi).
The pockets are flapless so as not to interfere with the pattern, and are designed to match the fabric.

It looks great when worn simply as a single layer like this.

An open-collar shirt, a symbol of 1950s America, made with traditional Japanese fabric. Please consider it as a spring staple.

*The current store will be open until Thursday, May 15th.
~Information on Pre-order Products~
We would like to introduce the following product, which is now available for pre-order.
[Pre-order Item, Arriving in June] JELADO Rebel Jacket Horse Hide Semi Aniline Finish Black [SG71428]
The Rebel Jacket
is a long-standing staple rider's jacket at JELADO.
To make it a simple rider's jacket,
the epaulets have been removed.
Furthermore, instead of quilting,
cupro is used to make it easy to put on and take off,
resulting in a garment that prioritizes wearability.
Made from 1.6mm thick leather with a semi-aniline finish, it offers a softness that 100% pigment-finished leather cannot, and since it is "tea-core leather," you can enjoy its aging gracefully with repeated wear.
There's one more product available for pre-order.
This is also a very popular product,
which sold out very quickly when it was previously released,
with sizes disappearing in an instant.
[Pre-order Item, Arriving in June] JELADO CM47 HBT Baker Pants [CT03347]
These are baker pants made from "herringbone twill" fabric, adopted in 1947.
* What is herringbone?
"Herringbone" =
"herring" + "bone"
The name comes from the pattern resembling the bones visible when a herring fish is filleted.
Baker pants were worn on the battlefield,
and also during indoor work.
It is also said that they were worn by bakers (hence the name "Baker Pants").
Because it is a herringbone twill fabric,
it is thick and durable.
In addition, since it is 100% cotton,
you can enjoy its aging beautifully with repeated wear.
And this item has been available for pre-order for a while now,
and it was a popular item at the 2025 SS preview.
[Pre-order Item, Arriving Early March] Monkey Trousers [CT11344]
USMC M44 Monkey Pants are
trousers issued to the Marines,
and are popular vintage items
known as 'Monkey Pants'.
Here's how they got their name...
Large, horizontally-long cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were adopted to hold ponchos,
and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.
These pockets are said to resemble the buttocks of a monkey,
hence the name "Monkey Pants."
The production period of the M44 was actually very short, only "1 year and 3 months," from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Also, since they were issued to the "elite few" of the US Marine Corps,
the overall production volume was small, so they are traded at quite high prices in the vintage market.
The period when the US Marine Corps actually wore them was...
・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 - March 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 - September 7, 1945).
They also seem to have been widely worn during the Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953) after World War II.
JELADO's Monkey Pants are made of herringbone material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.
And the buttons are donut buttons,
which also creates a vintage feel.
You can enjoy the aging process by wearing them thoroughly.
Half-length coats with Native patterns,
leather jackets... and even
coveralls are highly compatible,
I also recommend pairing them with chambray shirts.
Please make your reservations online or at our store.
Thank you.
Pre-orders are now open for popular items.
We look forward to receiving your reservations.
Thank you.
