USMC Loopwheel Tee [AG94243]

"ANTIQUE GARMENTS" has released the "USMC LOOPWHEEL TEE". This product follows the sewing specifications based on the "USMC" COTTON T-SHIRT from the 40s. It is knitted with tubular knit and hanging knit jersey using 14/- cotton air-spun yarn. This year, it has been re-released in three colors: the standard ecru, last year's popular marine green, and the new color black. This fabric uses a hanging knitting machine from Wakayama, which allows you to freely adjust not only the thread count and needle gauge, but also the texture. Unlike modern high-speed knitting machines, Wakayama's hanging knitting machines can infinitely change the adjustment of the thread to create the desired texture. This fabric has a thick finish with a little density packed in without killing the tension of the thread. Cotton thread is used for the basic sewing thread, and silk thread is used for the lower decoration of the back of the collar (front swing thread) to pursue strength and stretch. Three types of sewing machines are used. First, FLATLOCK is used for the seams (shoulder seams, sleeve seams). This seam is the basic sewing machine for the flat seams of underwear tees that have existed since the early 3th century, and was the standard sewing machine until the 3s. FLATLOCK stitches are sharper than US flat seams, but since it is a rare sewing machine that still exists, it is a special sewing. Next, a two-needle double-sided decorative trumpet sewing machine (collar binder) UNIONSPECIAL 20 is used. This sewing machine is a semi-automatic oil-lubricated high-speed sewing machine that was released at the end of the 1960s, and it has been made faster by reducing vibration. The stitches are flat two-needle double-sided decorative, and the bottom decoration of the double-folded trumpet collar (tenjiku), which is often used in underwear, is exposed on the outside. This sewing method makes the collar thinner and reduces chafing and thread breakage. Finally, the UNIONSPECIAL G52800 is used for the hemming (top and bottom stitching). This sewing machine has been around since the days of wool shirts, and its hem stitching is distinctive and is the kind of stitching you see on vintage T-shirts. This T-shirt, sewn using these vintage sewing machines, is a special item that is comfortable to wear, even though it is low in productivity.
