Both are 100% cotton. The indigo slub nep fabric is made using a spinning machine from the 1940s, so rather than the clean, straight, uniform threads produced by modern spinning machines, it has a strong vintage feel. It features a natural slub, not the computer-generated slub yarn of today, and the nep is created by hand-kneading fallen cotton (cotton that falls off during spinning). The white fabric is a clean, tightly woven herringbone. While vintage versions were made from white twill, we chose herringbone to add an accent with a woven pattern to an otherwise simple color scheme. Cat-eye buttons are used. The double-layered front placket prevents wind intrusion, and fine details such as the tape and drawstrings to secure the hood are also reproduced. The hem also has a drawstring for improved heat retention. The armholes are not too narrow, allowing for comfortable wear even when worn slightly oversized.
