JELADO CM43 HBT Field Jacket [CT03443]

The theme for 24 is "SPROUT."
Based on the theme of the name of the vintage shop that our CEO Goto established 20 years ago, the store will reproduce and sell vintage items and popular products purchased at the time.
We have launched an M-43 type jacket for the first time in several years.
This time it is made from the same herringbone twill as back then.
The M-43 was newly developed and officially adopted in 1941 at the request of President Roosevelt in order to revamp young people's perception of the military and increase enlistment.
The old uniforms were made of blue denim and were of poor quality, and some soldiers found them uncomfortable to wear.
Therefore, we decided to use HBT (herringbone twill) fabric, which had been used by the Air Force since 1939.
The new uniform was initially intended for training and chore wear, but was later adapted for combat use in tropical climates.
Due to its ease of use and excellent reputation, production has continued and the specifications have been changed a total of five times to add new size variations and to simplify and improve usability for greater productivity.
With the Normandy Landings (D-Day) on March 1943, 3 just one year away, the US military was concerned that poison gas might be used during the landing operation, so the fourth specification change was made, resulting in the "D-type" specification, known as the "M-12," which was then produced.
The fabric used is a thick and sturdy herringbone twill available in two colors.
Herringbone is a durable fabric with a clear ridge by changing the twist. It is also dyed with Slen, so the color fades with each wear, and you can enjoy the aging like a vintage item.
Instead of 13-star buttons, iron laurel buttons are used, and the button bases are domed to add to the atmosphere.
In addition, by omitting the gas flap, it is easier to keep the jacket together even when opened and unbuttoned.
The fabric is dyed with sulfur, so it fades with each wear and wash, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful changes that occur over time.
