The "Salem" series, which has received the greatest support in JELADO's history, is back with a new color scheme.
The weaver who wove the fabric for "Salem Blanket" in 2018 has now gone out of business.
Originally, it was a weaver's shop that only had one jacquard loom in operation.
This made it impossible to produce the blanket fabric, but this season, with the cooperation of various people in the production background, we are now able to work with a new weaver who is able to weave this large native pattern blanket.
This time, we recreated the pattern paper (a paper stencil for weaving patterns) from scratch, and although we were unable to get the exact same number of threads due to the loom's specifications, we were able to reproduce the same thickness and texture through finishing processes after weaving.
This season, the fabric is woven in a two-tone color of navy and ecru.
The material is a reproduction of a very rare black-based Native American pattern blanket jacket from the 1920s.
In the vintage world, black-based blankets are rarely available on the market, so we were able to create it based on extremely valuable materials.
This time, the pocket style has been increased to four with flaps, allowing for a wider variety of coordination options.
The pattern is perfectly matched to the pocket pattern and the fabric is luxuriously used to bring out the blanket's exquisite jacquard pattern to the fullest.
Considering that the previous metal buttons would quickly damage the fabric, we changed to cat's eye shell buttons.
This is a rare piece that is difficult to produce, yet highly versatile.

The name "Salem" is the name of a city in Oregon, famous for Pendleton, and is derived from a Semitic word meaning "peace" (Arabic salam, Hebrew shalom).
The first Europeans were in this area as early as 1812. They worked for the Astoria fur trading company and came here to trap animals and gather food.
The name comes from the history associated with wool and blankets.
